Types of visa to Uzbekistan

   In general, all foreign nationals and stateless persons are required to obtain a visa to enter Uzbekistan. 

   There are the following visa types in Uzbekistan:
   – Tourist Visa: Single or group entry for tourism.
   – Electronic Visa (E-visa): Applied online at www.e-visa.gov.uz (for citizens of over 77 countries) for up to 30 days; single, double, or multiple entry.
   – Business Visa: For business trips, negotiations, and accreditation with government agencies.
   – Work Visa: Issued based on a work permit.
   – Guest Visa: Upon invitation from Uzbek citizens or foreign citizens permanently residing in the country.
   – Study Visa: For study at educational institutions.
   – Transit Visa: For travel through Uzbekistan.
   – Investment Visa: For foreign investors.
   – Diplomatic and Service visas: For officials and employees of diplomatic missions.

Visa-free countries for Uzbekistan

   However, the following individuals are not subject to general visa requirements and may enter Uzbekistan without a visa:
   1. Citizens of the following CIS countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine (for stays of up to 60 days) and Tajikistan (for stays of up to 30 days);
   2. Citizens of the following countries for stays of up to 30 days per entry (the total duration of stay must not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period):
   Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrein, Barbados, Belize, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Oman, Panama, People’s Republic of China, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, San Marino, Romania, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, UAE, the United Kingdom and Vatican.
   3. Citizens of Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of the People’s Republic of China can stay of up to 10 days.

E-Visa to Uzbekistan

   Electronic visa is a valid visa document in Uzbekistan that is valid for 90 days from issuance, allowing a single stay of up to 30 days. The processing time for electronic visa applications is up to 3 working days.
   The electronic visa is sent to the e-mail address of the foreign citizen as indicated in the application submitted via the e-visa.gov.uz web portal.

   To apply for an Uzbekistan embassy visa, travelers must complete an online application at visa.mfa.uz, and submit the following documents to the nearest embassy of Uzbekistan:
   1. Passport copy (should be valid for at least 3 months beyond the visa);
   2. Photos 3,5×4,5 cm;
   3. Invitation letters (if required);
   4. Payment receipt.
   While e-visas are fast, embassy applications can take up to 15 days, sometimes longer if additional screening is required. Processing times are typically within 15 days.
